Still worried about unsold products?

Abstract

Every bakery has a few best-selling products. For example, ham bread, which is moderately sweet and savory. 8:30 am, during the morning rush hour, is the golden time for selling ham bread. Why? Because after eating baozi and sandwiches, office workers prefer delicious and convenient bread, and ham bread is a representative of this. Around 5 pm is the golden time for selling strawberry cakes—elementary school students are getting out of school, and parents will mostly buy their children something to eat. Strawberry cakes are loved by children for their small and cute appearance and sweet and sour taste.

—“Sorry, our hand-torn bread is sold out today. You can choose other products.”

—“Then forget it, I’ll come back another day.”

The above is a conversation between a bakery salesperson and a customer. I believe that shop owners have encountered similar situations, where a certain product is always in short supply during a certain period. They may have done product planning, but the effect is not great. In addition, many cake shops still have the problem of excess products every day, causing unnecessary losses to the bakery—even greater than the losses caused by product shortages! How can we effectively solve the above problems and sell products reasonably and effectively?

Suggestion: Pay more attention to the customer traffic during different time periods and which products are the most popular during a certain time period. Next, let's talk specifically about the countermeasures:

Different products are promoted at different times

Every bakery will have several best-selling products, such as ham bread, which is sweet and savory. 8:30 in the morning is the golden time to sell ham bread during the morning rush hour. Why? Because people are tired of buns and sandwiches, office workers prefer delicious and convenient bread, and ham bread is a representative of this. Around 5 pm is the golden time to sell strawberry cakes—elementary school students get out of school, and parents will mostly buy something for their children to eat, and strawberry cakes are loved by children for their small and cute appearance and sweet and sour taste.

If the bakery understands this situation, it can make timely adjustments, putting out ham bread around 7:50 and strawberry cakes around 4:30 in the afternoon. The quantity can be increased by 30% to meet consumer demand.

Salesperson's words adjustment

Adjust the sales pitch according to the best-selling products at different times—for example, at 8 o'clock in the morning, the salesperson welcoming guests at the door can add a sentence after "Welcome to XX (cake shop)": Fresh and soft ham bread is freshly baked, the best taste within fifteen minutes~

Similarly, around 5 pm, you can say to customers: Fresh strawberries just arrived this morning, welcome to buy our sweet and sour strawberry cakes~

Warm reminder: The situation of each bakery is different, and product promotion and sales pitch adjustments should be made according to the specific situation of your own bakery. Shop managers can determine the products and quantities to be produced next week by recording the differences between days and weeks; adjust inventory based on the best-selling products during different time periods to avoid oversupply/undersupply, and also increase sales for the bakery and maximize profits.
