However, in addition to issues definitively investigated by authorities, some so-called “unsafe” foods originate from rumors and misunderstandings of modern agriculture and food production methods. Experts point out five common misconceptions about food safety among the Chinese public.

【Foreign food is absolutely safe】

【Wild is better than farmed】

The former Ministry of Health's Nutrition and Food Safety Research Institute conducted a comprehensive test of pollutants in 24 common types of aquatic fish.
