On February 6, law enforcement officers from the Fushun City Livestock and Poultry Slaughter and Circulation Quality Supervision Joint Law Enforcement Team visited Gaowan Market, Geb Market, and Xinhua Xinmat Supermarket, among other locations, to inspect the livestock products sold. Law enforcement officers thoroughly checked the livestock products of some merchants and inspected the livestock products sold, discovering 3 illegal cases and confiscating 200 kilograms of beef and over 300 kilograms of pork. Further processing of these illegal cases is underway.

  It is understood that to ensure the safety of livestock products during the holiday period and allow the public to eat with peace of mind, the Fushun City Livestock and Poultry Slaughter and Circulation Quality Supervision Joint Law Enforcement Team has increased the intensity of supervision and inspection of the production, sales, transportation, and storage of livestock products throughout the city since the beginning of this month. Slaughterhouses within the jurisdiction strictly implement quarantine work according to standards and verify certificates of origin quarantine. During inspections, animals without valid animal origin quarantine certificates are prohibited from entering slaughterhouses or being traded on the market. The team also organizes law enforcement officers to conduct irregular supervision and inspection of animals and livestock products in large supermarkets and markets, strictly prohibiting the sale of diseased animal products. Once diseased animals and livestock products are discovered, they will be handled according to relevant regulations.

  How to choose "safe meat"?

  A reporter interviewed Wang Hao, deputy captain of the Fushun City Livestock and Poultry Slaughter and Circulation Quality Supervision Joint Law Enforcement Team. He told the reporter that "safe meat" is slaughtered in designated slaughterhouses and has undergone pre-slaughter and post-slaughter inspections by animal disease prevention and control institutions, with a health stamp indicating that the livestock meat is healthy and disease-free. Fresh pork skin is milky white, the fat is white and glossy, the muscle is uniformly red, the surface is slightly dry or slightly moist but not sticky, it has good elasticity, and the indentation from finger pressure recovers immediately. It has the inherent fresh and fragrant smell of pork. Normal frozen meat feels firm, and after thawing, the color, smell, and water content of the muscle are normal and odorless.

  Wang Hao stated that to buy "safe meat" in the market, one must not only check for the inspection and quarantine stamp on the pork skin but also check whether the business operator's invoices are complete and not buy cheap meat that is below market price.
