With the baking industry booming, more and more people are joining the baking world, with the mushrooming of shops being a clear indication. With so many bakeries, how can you stand out and make your shop shine among the crowd? You'll discover how important a name is only when it's time to open your shop! As long as we avoid the three naming taboos mentioned below, we can choose a great name. Let's take a look.

I. Avoid obscure characters

Brand names are for consumers to call out, and the popular use of characters should be considered. However, it is regrettable that some trademarks have very serious problems in the choice of characters used in their names.

A certain cake shop used its child's name as its shop name, which was originally fine, but unfortunately it was too "unique." Such a trademark, let alone ordinary farmers and citizens, probably not even university teachers would all recognize it. It's hard to imagine this shop becoming famous far and wide.

II. Avoid inauspicious characters

An inauspicious meaning is a big taboo in commercial naming.

Because it not only causes the owner of the name to have bad associations, but more importantly, it will affect others' acceptance of the subject, whether the subject is a person, a company, a product, or even politics. On February 18, 1987, Reference News reprinted a news item titled "For good luck, the Governor's name was changed": The Hong Kong government and London announced that the 27th Governor of Hong Kong, Sir David Wilson, changed his name to David Akers-Jones. He would arrive in Hong Kong to take up his new post on the afternoon of April 19, accompanied by his wife and 18-year-old son. The new governor, who turned 52 on Valentine's Day, changed his name to "Wei Dewei" according to the pronunciation in Mandarin, which was criticized by many Hong Kong people for being wrongly changed: Wei and Wei are like two ghosts, Wei sounds like "danger", symbolizing bad luck, etc. The new governor then decided to adopt the name change suggestion based on the advice provided by the Hong Kong government. The government spokesman explained that the new name was adopted mainly because the Cantonese pronunciation is closer to his English name. The name David Akers-Jones represents trust and protection, and "Yi" means vibrant. It is unbelievable that an inauspicious name actually affects people's acceptance of an official, showing the great impact.

III. Avoid unreadable names

Company and trademark names have the function of indicating the nature of the company and implying the function of the product, and require strong readability.

As reported by Guangming Daily, there is a naming shop in Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province, which gave itself a profound name: "叱石成羊" (Chì Shí Chéng Yáng) Naming Shop. However, after the sign was put up, others didn't understand it, so the owner quickly added the sign "Lanxi City Enterprise Culture Service Center" next to the shop name sign as a supplement. What does "叱石成羊" mean? According to the ancient book "Biographies of Immortals", it is said that in ancient times, Huang Chuping was herding sheep when he met a Taoist who led him to a stone chamber in Mount Jinhua. His brother went to look for him, but only saw some white stones. Chuping scolded them, and the stones all turned into sheep. A small shop that serves the public, its name actually contains such a mysterious allusion, no wonder people don't understand it. Another naming shop, "酿名庐" (Niàng Míng Lú) and "正名斋" (Zhèng Míng Zhāi) are both popular and thought-provoking, and the shop names themselves are excellent advertisements.

After talking about politics and allusions, what I mainly want is for everyone to have a good understanding of naming. A catchy and auspicious name is what we pursue. Don't try to be unique and end up counterproductive.
